Hello 2022! I have to admit that 2021 was a year of too many big things happening in my life and blogging… sort of… well… tumbled to the…

of my list of priorities. Eek.

What in the world was I up to?

I had a huge role in planning my best friend’s wedding. I kept my Etsy shop afloat. I assisted with planning a friend’s baby shower. I read a lot of books. I got vaccinated (#goawayCOVID) and will probably need more boosters in the coming months. On top of all that, I transitioned to a new job. To say that 2021 was a busy year for me is quite the understatement, but I wouldn’t have done anything differently!

For me, the hardest part about switching jobs was establishing a new routine. I was working at a private ENT clinic for nearly three years when I decided to transition to work for a large medical organization. First of all, job searching during the pandemic in our teeny tiny field proved to be a challenge because many clinics were down-sizing or operating with smaller budgets to on-board new hires. And when I finally landed a new position, it was really only half the battle for me.

Even though I mentally prepared to work in a larger, busier clinical setting, I definitely underestimated how physically exhausting it would be to learn a new set of protocols and see more patients in a day. This is all while the various strains of the COVID-19 virus continue to lurk and infect vulnerable individuals. This past year has been a toughie and this new experience has helped me grow professionally and as an individual trying to manage work-life balance.

Friends, today marks my 1 month countdown to my ONE year anniversary at my new job. It’s no joke how quickly time has flown by! I know I have neglected to share this aspect of my life until now, but I’ve been floundering like a fish with barely enough water to live in my day-to-day. Getting a new job gave me a positive boost in my professional career, but it has also made it difficult for me to keep up with my online presence. It’s been a real trip around the sun and I hope to provide more content soon – bear with me!

I’m curious to know – is anyone else experiencing a job transition during the COVID-19 pandemic? How are you handling it? Drop a comment – I’d love to know 🙂
